Thanks @muddytrousers and @jcwhite_uk.
I'll probably try phoning again tomorrow and see what they say. I'll say I've thought about it and the deal they offered sounded good, and then once they start talking again. see if I can get any further on the price!

Well, after yesterday's poor offer, I gave Retentions another shot today before I actually did use my PAC and transfer out.
This time I was offered 500 xnet anytime mins, 200 texts, and a free K750i for £19/month. So, £6 less a month and a free phone. I know there have been better offers, but it's much better than I'm on at the moment, and I get a free K750i!!!
Only downside is now that they have put the order through, it's showing as "Provisioning Failed" - does this mean they're out of stock again already? Hope I don't have to wait weeks to get the phone...

If you remember I was offered:
500Xnet, 300 texts, free V3 for £15/month.
I received the phone, and checked my bill online. They charged me £10 for "Discount 500" (500 Xnet mins + 200 texts), plus £10 for 200 text message bolt-0n. Therefore I had to pay £20 for 500Xnet and 400 texts.
I called them and after a long conversation, agreed that they should only have charged £5 for 100 text bolt-on, therefore making my monthly payment £15. They put a credit of £5 on my account, to make up for this.
I then said I didn't want the £5 bolt-on (for 100 messages), so from next month I will "only" pay:
£10 for 500Xnet and 200 texts
Although 300 texts would have been nice, I didn't believe it was worth paying an extra £5/month.

Ok, I have just been offered the following:
K750i FOC
750 xnet mins
500 txts
@£35 PCM for 12 months.
or
K750i FOC
750 xnet mins
300 txts
@£34 PCM for 12 months.
or
K750i FOC
400 xnet mins
1000 txts
@£30 PCM for 12 months.
That was about as flexible as they got, I think I might go for the £35 tariff........?

@bulti48
Definitely go for the £35/month. It's much better than the second deal as you pay £1 extra per month but also get an additional 200 texts.
The £30 per offer is good, but you're "only" getting 400 minutes, compared to 750 with the other one.
If I were you, call O2 one more time, and try to haggle the price down from £35. Tell them something like you were offered the £35/month deal, but they told you to call back so they could negotiate a better price...

I already tried it this morning on my way to work as I mentioned yesterday the guy from 3 Network was calling me back - I even tried flirting with the girl telling her I liked her accent but sadly I had no joy
I went for the £35 tariff taking advantage of both minutes and texts - It suits me and will be cheaper than my current monthly bills so I'm happy.....for another 12 months at least!
Thanks to everyone who contributed to this thread.

Just got a W800i for free plus £45 cashback from the carphonewarehouse, asked for my PAC, stated i could get the phone for free on a new contract
(My bill has never gone above the free minutes and texts during the 12 month contract)
Thanks!
