Wow, rumours galore. Isn't X10 hardware currently incompatible with Froyo? That's what a lot of people are saying. And if that is true then I can't see the successor not having a hardware upgrade as well as everything else.

@avmax thanks for the info on xperiascape and the gyroscpe. From what I'm led o believe the gyroscope is utilised for more advanced gaming. I just wanted to make sure X12 wouldn't be left behind.

As for the Chinese official site, it is listed in Chinese. It's near the bottom of the list of languages.

I'm trying to find that section of the website myself.

from XDA forum:

The successor is going to retain the 8mpx, but would go xmos (some internal Sony's development), the display would be Bravia branded and I think it would probably be SLCD. Q3-Q4 release with 3.0.

?????????

First, there is no "xmos" sensor (???) There is a CMOS censor and also EXMOR. No "XMOS" So i dunno what he is talking about.

Second, The Bravia branding is limited to phones in Japan which hav built in TV TUNER. As the phones also function as TVs they are branded as BRAVIA. The screen isn't BRAVIA. Its the Phone thats called BRAVIA.

Third, Q3-Q4 release??? Q3 is ending in a few days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think he is specific about anything and whatever he has mentioned isn't logically right either.

@RickyD

Yup thats right It is indeed for advanced gaming and X12 will indeed be capable enough.

And please share the link once you find the exact link. I am getting back on it too

Fount it. It does appear there is an X10_v2 on the Chinese website. I'm trying to dig around for some features in some hidden area before they realise they f**ked up.

I'm thinking this is a red herring and will serve to separate apps/themes/extras compatible with X10 1.6 and x10 2.1. Afterall this is the playnow section of the site.

Yeah I agree with Ricky D. That makes a lot of sense to me. Far more than SE seriously being up themselves enough to think they can pull off what Apple does.

SE were present at the Toyko gaming show and reiterated that they are serious when it comes to mobile gaming.Do we smell something boiling here?

@avmaxfan:
Something that is still bugging me is the screen resolution of the X12. Does Android generally work well on a 1.5 aspect ratio? So is it 1080x720 or 1280x720? I'm wondering, if uses Super AMOLED it could well be the 2nd generation could it not since the 1st gen can't support higher resolutions than WVGA?

Hopefully gives us great hardware and software, or if not at least hardware; hopefully there are porters out there to port WP7, iOS, and/or MeeGo ;D to make the software side rock hehe.
