I read only this thread because i've bought a k800i, but it so annoying forum, that the only usefull page is the first one..... I will never post here any more....
What are you talking about? I asked a serious question based on the fact that baste07 obviously has a sometimes lack of understanding what an upgrade/update actually does (not in all cases, but some). If you look at the majority of his posts he is concerned about f/w enhancements which in some cases does not address a functionality issue but will address a overall usability issue. The 2 latest releases might not add any new features but will fix or stabilize current functions without you seeing a noticeable difference. This is what I mean about a level of sophistication from a user standpoint. If this is lost on you because of language, then sorry for you and for me. It is very obvious that you also somewhat do not understand what goes on in software updates/upgrades. Not everyone will yield a new function or feature that you can see and show off. It is about enhancing your user experience.
I hope I explained this well enough, as it was my intention to educate you as well as baste07 on the ins and outs of software rather than point out a weakness.

Just getting back on topic, I upgraded to R1EJ001 yesterday, and in my opinion, the camera quality - photo, not video - has DEFINITELY improved. Photos are no longer 'hazy'; they are slightly more colourful and better looking.
I'll upload a photo taken with the new firmware on my day off; I'm working 12 hours a day at the moment, and I miss all the sunshine!
Oh, in addition; the large-size clock now sits above the date - I couldn't get that to work with the last firmware. (Sorry about the quality of the pic, and also for not rotating it - my Mac won't rotate it)

i do agree with you sapporobaby. i liken the firmware upgrades to updating your computer operating system. you dont necessarilly do it to add functionality to the system but to fix flaws and improve the overall experience for yourself.
it is slightly annoying when people come on and post asking what the new firmwares give you, but that is what the first page is for. im would hope that anyone who notices an improvement/feature would sensibly PM mwarner for him to modify the first page to keep it as up to date as possible.
i imagine that because the new firmwares have been released to wotan so soon after the first major firmware update that these do indeed fix the critical flaws in the R1ED firmware which leads me to believe that the UK may not get the R1ED firmware at all but may get the R1EG firmware with the fixed bugs.

shanespencer - any reason you chose the R1EJ firmware and not the R1EG? i see you're from the uk, i would ahve thought the european languages would have been more of an obvious choice.

Thanks Gavin. This was the entire object of my post. I was trying to explain to baste07 that new features are not always a good thing and that SE has to save something for later. I would rather have a stable error free system than a feature laden device that is so useless, that I hardly use it.

I still think it is a codec problem because I remember when TCPMP was in its early stages (betaplayer) and when the codecs were in early development you sometimes would get similar 'effects' on the screen.

Can you have a look at a video on your phone (fly away for example) and see if you can spot a large black line flash across the video when it loads? Cheers.

You could have a point. I come from the Mac world but I now remember a piece of software (crapware) that did the same exact thing when starting up. It would blank the screen and then some weird characters and lines would appear and then it would all go away and things would be normal.

Argh! Most of the times my pictures lookes likes this.
This happend after I upgraded the firmware. The tumbernail looks fine, but when I open the picture in full size it lookes likes this.
