Someone mentioned that the sound volume in the earplug was larger after the last firmware update, and I think I can agree in that, but I don't like the upgrade. What they seem to have done is to increase the amplification somewhere in the middle of the amplifier chain, but it leads to too high input to the physical output amplifier, which makes it clip, rendering a very "compressed" sound result, which is not very nice to listen to. The practical maximum limit you can set now is when one or one and a half of the circles are still not lit in the volume indicator, before the compression effect is too disturbing.

@ machanic
No, the O2 (and indeed other operator branded firmware) has traditionally taken longer to surface because the operator has to 'brand' it then test it. AFAIK even the generic one is not available on SEUS for UK users yet.

Can you press >* represents pressing the joystick left and right respectively) and go to Service Info > Software Info and tell us the firmware version and what is says for Camera SW version? Also make sure you don't have any effects enabled.

Interesting as I have noticed this as well. What kind of headphones are you using? I am using Etyotics and Ultimate Ears. Both are highend phones. But..... when I use the HBH-DS-970 I do not get the compressed sound (I did have the f/w of the headset upgraded so maybe this helped), but it seems to "breath" a bit. Can you test this out with a HBH-DS970 or some other BT streaming headphones?

@mwarner
I think you can add the fact that the contents of the Application and Games folders are no longer calculated (size or # of files) in the File Manager with R1ED001 to the bugs list on the first page.
This was discussed by me and one or two other members about 10-15 pages back.

No effects was enabled when I took that picture. My camera SW is version 2.5. The firmware is R1ED001.

I must admit I've never seen a K800i produce a picture like that before. If every picture comes out like that regardless of how dark or bright it is around you then I would suggest the camera software is playing up.
Try doing a master reset, it can solve quite a lot of software problems (if they aren't too serious of course). Did you use SEUS to update the phone?

If you have updated the firmware already then I would suggest that the camera itself is faulty. I would get it looked at.

Ah, okay. If you can, try again with the HBH-DS970. You might be pleasantly surprised.

Has anyone had the phone die on them after upgrading the firmware from the CB version to either ED, EG or EJ?
