Thanks for the quick reply. I can't wait to have a fiddle with the phone, so would you advise charging it for 2.5 hours or more, but turning it on after a while (phone still charging) so i can have a little play with it. Or would it be wiser just to leave it.

Suppose it's for the best. Think i may have to go and put it out of my view so I may be able to resist.
One last question-Did they suggest 12 hours was the optimum initial charge time or should it be left for longer? As after 12 hours it will be nearly 10pm here so i could just leave it overnight aswell if that were to help anymore.

if you have already got it on charge jsut leave it overnight then. If you havent already charged it, put in on a bit later so that when you wake up in the morning its had its 12+ hr charge

I didn't charge my K800 for 12 hours, just for like 3hours, and I give it around 2.5hours regularly like it says to... Have I damaged the battery?
Cheers

Well the manual just suggests 2.5 hours for a normal charge but I have heard people saying they initially charge their phones for longer.

yes the phone does say 'fully charged' after bout 2.5 hrs, i did that with the k750i, left it on charge at a mates house for that time frame, then playedwith it a bit on the way home, then left overnight to charge...
but se email said to charger for 12+hr to be safe, so its up to you guys, if anything does go wrong warranty does cover battery, just say the battery is STUFFED even though you charged it for 12hrs, and they will replace it, should anything go wrong with it..
i usually charge overnight for bout 12hrs, maybe little more sometimes...

well..it does qcif..it's basically the same as the k750i recording wise...it's something that doesn't personally bother me..if ya want to record goodish video then the w900 will do....
