Well I for one still can't wait for this phone. It looks great! 1.6, 2.0, 2.1....who gives a crap as long as it does what we want it to do! I don't even mind if the phone needs some software updates now and again to keep it running smoothly, as long as SE is good about releasing the firmwares in a timely fashion.
And regarding Timescape and Mediascape lagging, don't we have the option to just use the native Android phonebook/media app/etc? I thought that was mentioned on here or in one of the videos posted a while back. If that's the case and you're not a fan of the Scapes, then don't use them. Problem solved!
Now if only

can get this phone out before Q2 rolls in.....

It is you who DOES NOT UNDERSTAND MY POST. There is not so big about the some features of 2.0 and 2.1 that the X10 already has despite of it is currently running on 1.6, because getting those features just needs software update.
So all the missing software features can be brought in with an update and it already has class leading (Or at least, equaling) hardware. So what EXACTLY is your complaint?

About the media experience, again it is nothing that special aside from the infinity button. The rest is just UI layer to make it pretty. Of course, it is good but I do not consider it as a selling point.
YOU do not consider it a good selling point. YOU. That's the key word here.
It is a feature that brings all available info about a contact/ song/ artist/ anything on your phone to a fingertip and THAT's something none of the competing Android solutions have at the moment. Sure, teh BLUR and senseUI have incorporated contact integration, but none of them have raised the bar to this extent. It IS a big deal.
Also, do you understand that Timescape and Mediascape are open source modules? A developer can modify the code to add features in any way he wants. For example, someone could combine Google latitude and the new Ericsson 3D API and show real-time location of a contact of yours in 3D. And you could access this with the infinity button that you do not consider a big deal.
That withstanding, the phone brings SE's traditionally great media management to Android. Something that the platform was lacking until now.

I've been reading this thread (and the last one) since the beginning. I understand that we are all

but people need to quit being apologetic for them. The device should have been release already not being teased with new API's or whatever.
Timescape and Mediascape I don't really care about; if

are able to let me play .mkv or divx out of the box, or something major like then...
There wasn't even an otg playlist feature on my NWZ-A818

.
That said, the X10 is so beautiful that I'm willing to wait a little longer. Hopefully, XDA or someone else can help with this 1.6 issue.

S60v5 is stable but just look at N97 and Satio, thanx to their modded UIs.

S60v5 is stable?? Oh please...
My Nokia 5800 is great not a single issue! very very stable, no crashes, no locking up, the best BT to PC connectivity I have EVER used. And I can choose what connection I want for every application!
After two years my SE W960 still does not connect to my PC by BT and has cable sync issues despite all the help the SE help desk can provide!
Have you ever used S60v5?
Oh look at that...another lucky 5800 (60v5) user and yes I did owned the 5800 before.
Spot on mate, I do consider myself lucky, I paid my money and got a reliable product right out the box!

You count yourself lucky because your phone managed to work reliably out of the box?
That's ridiculous! Is it really that bad these days that we're lucky our phones even work reliably first time! That's somewhat sad.

Looks like it,unless you get a 1100,in that case you're guaranteed reliabity, and endurance.
Every high end smartphone has had some sort of hardware or software problem at release in the last 3-4years,so if you do get one thats working almost flawlessly out the box, count yourself lucky

@goldenface
No its not that bad at all, I was merely replying to this response I got from titus1, when I dared suggest that my S60v5 was trouble free!

This is not 5800's thread, no shitty Nokia phones here or crap like S60.
And don't answer this post, because the offtopic goes strong.

Don't answer this post? while this thread has gone off topic abit in the last few pages or so, your reply is, quite frankly pathetic. You could have simply said "can we please get this topic back on track" rather than the stupidity of your post...engage your brain mate eh...
