I don't know which phones you have in mind, but I can tell you that Vivaz sometimes runs slowly although it's powerful CPU...

Sony's PlayStation division looking for engineers with Android dev experience

It's been just over a month since we broke the news that Sony's working on an Android 3.0-based gaming phone with PlayStation branding, and a new job posting seems to indicate that progress is being made -- the PlayStation division is looking for a senior server engineer in London with "experience in mobile development, specifically Android." The rest of the listing sounds like this person will be involved in running an online game service, which certainly makes sense; Sony would do well to counter Xbox Live on Windows Phone 7 and Apple's Game Center with PSN on their own device. Either that, or this just means nothing -- but you know us, we're eternal optimists.

I was hoping they were well advanced in the development of their Android gaming phone. Seems like it's still years away if they are only just now advertising for engineers.

• Help troubleshoot issues at different levels of architecture - kernel, network, applications/services.
Requirements:
The candidate must have these qualities or experiences:
• Communication skills are essential in this customer facing role.
• Strong experience in developing distributed networked applications that make use of protocols such as TCP, UDP, and HTTP.
• Extensive knowledge of Linux.
• Strong skills in more than one of the following: Perl, Bash/ksh, Python, Ruby.
• Exposure to live application hosting.
• Strong understanding of database performance and tuning.
• Experience in using software design patterns, data structures, algorithms.
• Programming Experience in C/C++ and/or Java.
• Ability to manage oneself across multiple streams of work.
• Experience automating tests and tasks.
Highly desirable:
• BS or MS in Computer Science.
• Experience of working as a core developer.
• Experience in design and development of SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) or Software-as-a-Service (SaaS).
• Experience with cloud hosting, such as Amazon Web Services.

so for people that want to know what the role is for the senior server engineer
edit:
though it doesnt mention anything about android..sounds like engadget,has been adding words in..lol and their source button links to the same page as i have provided in this post..so why add "android" in the text of the screen shot - which seems to have been photoshopped - creating hype i think maybe yes maybe meh.

... and this in my opinion means this is going to be a strictly SONY project as that Sony executive mentioned earlier this month that the Playstation brand is only reserved for SONY products. To me this is confirmation that the SE phone is just going to be like the Aino with Playstation remote play and not Playstation branded. Too bad as SE would've benefited greatly from a PSPhone.

This was part of the original agreement when they merged so it looks like it will be a
Sony Playstation Phone and not a Sony Ericsson Playstation phone.
