Those photo samples from swedroid looked really good! Much cleaner and non processed than the LG. Strange that it should differ so much from different reviews.

@tyko -it's honestly not strange to me. it's just like not everyone can be a professional photographer even if everyone has access to the same highend dSLR. The photographer matters. Given certain situations one camera will do better than another. It's just that the best cameras in the world can and do perform in most if not all situations.
@ermac - sounds great man!! I think i'll be ordering from clove or handtec when I decide to order. Not sure which. To be honest, your viewing angles on your device don't look all that terrible to me? Sure, it's not as vibrant as headon, but the screen does not turn white like people are saying and it certainly does not turn negative. Looks great!!! give us additional impressions if you can and want to

http://www.swedroid.se just reviewed G2 and compared the cam to Z1 and said that Z1 is the best camera they've seen on any android phone to date. I have to point out that the reviews by Swedroid is better than any other site out there except a few. They test everything and very thorough.
As I mentioned in the other thread, I trust only GSMArena and Steve Litchfield when it comes to cameraphones reviews..
And for some reason I won't take a Swedish website's word over the a comparison including a Sony's smartphone..
Unfortunately we live a world full of bias.. You have American sites reviewing the iPhone as the sacred gadget, Korean websites worshiping Samsung gadgets, etc..
When one trust the methodology of a certain reviewer, all it takes is examining the photos by oneself..
Then, nobody said the G2 delivers better photos than the Z1.. But it does have certain significant other advantages..
Still a tough call, as it comes down to little details and personal preferences, but it remains a fact that the Z1 didn't live to its hype of delivering some special on the camera part..

I know it's been pointed out already, but it's most definately worth remembering the GSM Arena Z1 phone as a pre-production model. There's a fair chance it might not have had the latest software updates.

@moogoo
I am going to tell you something. I had enough waiting and decided to order the white one from Clove
Phonearena's and Swedroid's review helped me to make my decision easier.

I have also ordered from Clove and just cancelled my order and placed it at handtec instead.
the reason being - Clove asked me to verify the purchase by emailing a scan of my ID, which was fine. Then after they asked me for the Authorization code from my bank, which Chase refused to give to me as this isn't a normal procedure. this has been going on for 4 days now.
Completely unreasonable as Clove already processed the payment and its been on my credit card for four days now, if it was fraud it would already have been reversed. Also - I even emailed the web bank statement so they can my name on it.
The billing address is the same as the shipping , what a painful complicated process.

I just read GSMArena's review of the Z1 and saw their camera comparisons charts..
It should suffice to say that even the Lumia 925 did significantly better compared to 8MP auto mode and of course to the poor 20MP manual mode!
But all in all, the phone seems a good hit.
Sony did really bad with the Z's display but they are learning fast from their mistakes these days.
The Z Ultra and Z1 are some excellent overall smartphones.
If one doesn't care for the Stylus on the Note and its multitasking abilities and just looking for a phablet with high-end specs, I would certainly recommend the Z Ultra over it..
As to the Z1, it somehow disappoints as the camera was supposed to be a key point but turned up a flop, and too much bezel on the thing too..
Compared to the G2 and the GSIV it's a tough call but can't say it has any major advantage..
Recommendation would still go for the GSIV..

To be totally honest, I prefer the contrast in the G2's daylight photos. In addition, swedroid had this to say about the video taking capabilities of the two devices:
"All in all, we find it difficult to choose a winner in the video recording"
To be honest, I find the z1's video recording to be superior, but they don't.

@monkeypantz - that is strange indeed! can anybody else comment on clove for this? where are you located monkeypantz?
EDIT: so i looked on clove's site and they have this in their FAQ for international customers:
What is the Authorisation code?
The Authorisation Code (or Transaction Code) relates to a payment approval on your card. There is a unique code for every card transaction. It is usually a 5 or 6 digit number that normally appears at the bottom of a store receipt. As this is an online transaction you will not have this, so as part of our security procedure will need to request it from your card issuer. Your card issuer will only give this information to the card holder. Simply contact them and ask for this code. When you confirm this code to us via email, phone or fax, your order will be security cleared.
It's probably not "normal" for this to occur, but if you ask the bank, they should tell you the information since you are the card holder. strange that they refused it to you.
I think i will be ordering from Handtec too. I don't like that Clove charges your credit card IMMEDIATELY upon order. Not sure what UK law permits, but here in the states, things aren't fully charged (sometimes money is HELD, but not charged) until the order is shipped. Plus, Handtec is 1 pound cheaper

Hey,
I am located in california, billing and shipping address is identical as stated on the picture of my ID that I sent in as well as the credit card statement showing the transaction being booked.
They charged me and refuse to send the phone, and its been 4 days now.
Chase ( my bank ) told me they will not give out the authorization code to me, and this would be a very strange request from the store. Clove states on the website it would only ask for this if the shipping and billing address is not the same, which isnt the case for me.
I dont recommend ordering from Clove.
