I swapped out the w960i battery for the p1i battery to overcome the squeak and for the extra juice.

I asked in another thread about if A P1 battery would fit. Still not got time to buy one though due to other commitments but will be buying one next payday.
BST-40's are £29.99 from the Eshop or nearly £50 if I go to the high street and buy one

If not .gif, does it support any other animated format? What about the animated walkman themes? (i dont hav any in my phone but read here tht u ppl have anim themes)...being a K750 user for abt 3 yrs now, not havin an animated standby kinda pisses me off...

Also I miss the translucent standby notes of the k750...any post-it-notes apps tht allow transparent/trnslucent backgrounds?

No. The only animation is via the screensaver.

If you go to the main menu/tools.control pannel/device/standby application

You can change the Walkman to Business or even turn the Walkman off.

Set it to Business and you will get the Today screen. This shows your calender, email, messages, tasks etc and you also still have the Walkman application on the screen as well.

The p1i battery is slightly more powerful, i would say on average an extra 2-3 hours of energy. As far as it fitting it will but rather snuggly, for me it works, and its worth it.

Help...I cant seem to use animated wallpapers on my 960i and none of the installed themes are animated either...doesnt the 960 support animated standby? lf it does then how do i enable it? Or do i need a FW upgrade?

No, I don't think it supports .gif images as wallapper.

No it doesn't support animated GIF, and if you choose one as a wallpaper, only the first frame will be displayed as still picture

I tried several types of gif but no success, even I tried animated SVG files and same thing happened

I've had a BST-40 in my W960i since the late Jan.

I removed the foam pad from the cover and stuck it on the old battery.
The BST40 fits in well if you remove the pad.
No gaps on the cover, cant tell from the outside its different.
A little bit harder to remove the cover.

I get just under a week of battery life; GSM only, a few calls a day (10-15min), 20ish txt,
