Have enquired about Jelly Bean update for Xperia S at a local Sony Centre and what I heard from them was that they are trying to fix all issues in the present Jelly Bean system and release a bug-free Upgrade for the phones which are yet to get the JB update...

Would you look at that comment section it reminds me of SE's official blog when SE announced that they wouldn't update the X10's OS version any further originally. Looking further into those comments, seems some have started a petition even, geez, with every Sony/SE flagship there seems to be some sort of petition WRT Updates and faults going all the way back to the days of P990/M600/W950.

And please don't even dare to tell me that the quad-core processors are overhyped! Weren't you the one, who used to tell us an year ago that dual-core processors were overhyped? And it suddenly turned out that they're requirement for the next version of Android. Not only that, but I remember SE saying that they've optimized the OS so well that it runs as good on their single-core phones as on competitors' dual-core. But what happened now? Not only they're not as powerful as competitors' dual-core phones, but they're not even powerful enough to run Android 4 properly. Or at least Sony says so. Did any other brand come with similar statement? Clear example - HTC Sensation or Galaxy S2, for example, compared to Arc S. So Arc and Arc S' purchasers were screwed. I see the same thing happening next year with Android 5, with the Xperia S, Ion, Mint and so on...

Just a quote from a post I wrote on 15 July 2012. Look at my last sentence - it seems my predictions for the future are even more correct than randomuser's back then. Lets make a quick summary:

In 2011 SE used very powerful single-core processors, almost on par with the "overhyped" dual-core processors in Samsung, HTC and LG's flagships. But then it turned out only the "overhyped" dual-core processors are the one running ICS fine, unlike SE's really powerful single-core processors. That was one of the major excuses for Sony's shitty ICS updates. Of course, no one of you fan boys admitted Sony's failure.

In 2012 Sony used very powerful dual-core processors, almost on par with the "overhyped" quad-core processors in Samsung, HTC and LG's flagships. But then it turned out only the "overhyped" quad-core processors are the one running JB 4.2 fine, unlike Sony's really powerful dual-core processors ( this time no drivers from Qualcomm, because these processors seem to be really outdated ). That's one of the major excuses for Sony not to provide 4.2 for your 2012 Xperias. Of course, once again, no one of you fan boys admits Sony's failure.

Is that a deja-vu? How can you convince me that this year something's gonna change?

EDIT: I wrote Android 5, because back then no one really knew which the next Android version is gonna be. Anyway, I was referring to the one, announced in October, a.k.a JB 4.2.

So it's the CPU then cos it's outdated?? So even if it has dual core and 1 gig ram it's not gonna run JB?? Or did I read your post wrong?? Bloody Sony

Can't be due to CPU, the US Samsung GS2s all use the same Snapdragon S3 CPU as Xperia S, except for the AT&T I777, and many of them such as the GS2 AT&T Skyrocket and T-Mobile i989 have received JB.
