wow, that's one scary fall! i dont think i can bear watching my phone fall 3 storeys down.
hmm ... and the t68 is not yet touted as an "outdoor" phone, maybe it's time that

should add that. i've heard a lot of stories about t68 survivors here in esato.

Hahaha...Yeah! Bumps and bruises, and even drownings but very few causualties. Think our military should replace the damn signal set with a t68.
I was not so lucky though. Got my first t68 last november and went to the beach around 3 months later. Don't know how it got some salt water and died on me for the rest of my life. I couldn't bear to part with my phone and the sesc says that due to the extreme corrosion, my warranty was void. I couldn't help it so I went out and just got another one for $715. My heart sure hurt (not to mention my wallet) but at least I still have a piece of mind when I'm still carrying the most reliable phone around.

mark,
i guess corrosive salt water is just too much for an "urban" phone like the 68. Even the ruggedized units may have difficulty with that one.

I guess so. Just sore about it cos I didn't even drop it into the water. Just got splashed on and that's what killed it. The sea killed my T68!

dairin-> I hv tried so many times on the receiving part on my phone. Yes, it does prompt me " New SMS, Read Now?". I do not know why yours does not. Mine is the T68mic. Perhaps you should send it to SESC for a check up.

I think SE should start opening shops like those Nokia stores islandwide selling SE products.
Anyone agree with me?

their accessories are too exp .. dont you think ?? no need the official shops .. just need a few more service points .. like the 1 at Goldhill will do .. all their SP close so early and they cant do much .. like upgrade only .. when ask them to fix it .. they always ask me to go to their main Service center ..... which is do far .. as i live in the east... and the kallang pudding 1 is really very inconvinent ..... they should open it like places like shopping malls .. or 7 11 .. 24 hr service .. not some stupid small post office ...

SO does that means that SE service centre sells their accesories?
And does it cost more to buy outside compared to their SC?

cwchee-> You are right. SE should have a place like Nokia Centre not only doing servicing or selling accessories, they must have a nice showroom to sell gift items also. Problem is, they only appointed SC and do not want to run themselves just to save cost.
