Can the k800's camera be used without having to switch on the phone? This would be very useful in, for example, in an aircraft. Can anyone check for me, thanks!

Is there a way to turn off the shutter sound on this camera?

@Novell
Yes the camera can be used in Flight Mode.

Just a little piece of advice I have to give.

!!DO NOT RESTART YOUR K800i WITH A 1GB M2 IN SLOT!!!!

I did this yesterday and it scared me so bad. The phone switches on and the sony ericsson screen stays on for an eternity. I really thought my phone can crashed which would have been really bad timing as I was on a train and need to contact people I was meeting with and to arrange to be picked up.

So I restarted again and thought well its prob just loading up the M2 for ages, so took it out and sure enough the phone start a LOT quicker.

EDIT: HMM actually having retested that now, its seems to start up fine. Really dont know what happened to it yesterday then but it damn near gave me a heart attack.

for those who have the k800i, i should be expecting mine tomorrow, how should i charge the phone when i get it ?
Should i use it and kill the amount of battery that it has when new and then charge for x hours? or should i just do the full charge straight away?

thanks guys...

I'm just wondering if other people have some of the same problems with their k800i's as me...

When using the camera with macro on, does anyone else have problems with focusing? Mine does (eventually) focus properly, but it almost always zooms out to the background 5 or 6 times before it settles and stays on the foreground subject - even if the subjects takes up most of the scene.... It takes great shots when it works, but i'm getting a little annoyed with it now.

Also, does anyone else struggle to get the phone to fully charge? Mine says 100%, but it continues to charge regardless, even though the first time i charged it said 'fully charged' when finished. The guy where i bought it told me to let it run down (from the initial half-charge i bought it with) to dead and charge it until it said fully charged -not the 12 hours people have been doing here. Has this screwed the battery? Should i go and punch him?

they always show fully charged after a while, you should have left it for 12, id go punch him. I always let mine run down to off then charge for 12-16 for initial charges

so basically... take the phone out of the box, put the battery in, use it til it dies, then charge it for like 12 hours?

it's good to know that some bastard salesman has possibly screwed up my perfectly good battery...

So has anyone had that focusing issue with the camera?
