This is the exact situations where we need a xenon flash. My n86 also sucks in these situations. The scenery gets lit up nicely but it uses a long exposure time. People move so they get blurred. With a strong xenon flash the cam uses a shorter exposure time and it works nice.
I think that the lack of a xenon flash in the N86 is hilarious/ridiculous... What tha hell were they thinking when they decide to add a led flash... By the way Pitzon, I've seen that you had both C902 and C901. Does it worth the upgrade, in terms of detail and focus quality? (From C902 to C901 of course)
c902 has better build quality but c901 is better on every aspect otherwise i think. Bigger screen, more comfortable keys, xenon flash who works well in "party" situations. I also feel the c901 to be much better cam allround. Mine was dead accurate in most situations. I browse through all pics i have taken sometimes and still gets stunned on how good they look. c902 can also snap bautiful pics in good light but the c901 can do so much more..... After hundreds of pics with them both i can without doubt say that the c901 is the winner

Even my girlfriends old 3.2 MP Samsung U600 takes sharper pictures than my C902...
But tell me, how can I deacrease the shutter speed in my C902?

months ago, there was a cybershot booth set up by
in a mall to promote the CS phones.
they had a live c902 handset for customers and kibitzers to play around and use.
my friend took pics. the booth was well lighted with all the klieg lights etc etc.
when we viewed them full screen on a laptop, there it was! in all its glory and abundance - oil painting effects and softness in images
so sad for a cybershot..
am glad c901 is out already to take over c902

Hello again!
Today I found that the Document Mode (DM) gives a very nice sharpness and contrast to the fotos, therefore it is better that the full-auto (AM) mode in my opinion.
All the following were taken with daylight white-balance, 0,0 EV. Check them out:

Well, sorry for the photo spam! Hope it can be usefull to you.
In this last example, do you prefer with or without the stabllizer?
I must say i'm impressed with the quality of the DM.

My little experience with C902.
Using digital image stabilizer in c902 will decrease quality of the picture, also you will get smaller resolution (afaik it -10pixel), so its better to not using it.
Last time ago we can't change shutter speed in C902, but we can add manual iso that also affected shutter speed with replace effect function to iso.
In twilight landscape, we can get Iso
100-200@2S.
also we can get sharpness value like DM in AM. To get all of this i'm using modded camdriver.
