How come the SO-01B does not support muti-touch?

it's just not implemented. much like there is no multi-touch for nexus1 either. though android 2 does support it since a version of the droid has it i believe.

^Sorry I used the word "support" instead of "implement." Since this is a Japanese version, shouldn't it have multi-touch feature like the Motorola Milestone and Motoroi?

Milestone and mototroi are not available in japan. Motorola has littl or no influence in the japanese market.

In my opinion, the japanese and the european version of X10 will use the same firmware version, the onliest difference between them will be the support of the japanese alphabet in the first.

Multitouch has just been added to Nexus One via a hack - surely SE can do this then?

it's a hack.. just like someone will probably hack the x10 as well... hopefully SE will implement it in a future update.

Nexus One runs Android 2.1, X10 only 1.6 that doesn't support multitouch at all. How do you expect them to implement multitouch then? Half of this thread is about that. There will be no multitouch and there will be no more than 65000 colors. And unless an Android upgrade comes (not likely) this is not going to change.
