> Transfer speed for K750/W800

hehe, yes guess we still have to bring our Ipods
All Ipods and my current needs from the phone aside, I actually do have to agree with you both though. It may fullfill my current needs, but its definately not an optimum sollution, neither in terms of transferspeeds nor in terms of userexperience and software. And youre right that if they want to market the walkman labeled w800 as a musicdevice like the Ipod, they should work on improving these matters. Jason also made another good point about the fastport, it should have been USB2 HS considering we dont want yet another redesign in the near future, and they should have made access to the internal memory use the same speed instead of the silly seriel emulation.
What I really had hoped for (and still hope for in future designs) was a standard mini usb connector on the phone for filetransfers, instead of having to use the same connector for transfers that we use for connecting accessories. Adding this on future designs, could solve the problem with transferspeeds without having to change the design of the accessories connector, and would allow the use of accessories while connected for transfers.

Yup, your suggestion would be ideal numb.
Btw, I just bought a really cheap all-in-one card reader, Singapore $16 = US$10... unknown brand made in China with 1 month warranty heheheh
Speeds really fast now...
Cheers!

Quote:This could be due to settings in windows for hot plugging. Default settings in windows of removable drive in K750 is optimised for safety, so you can remove the device without using the manuel unplug feature. In this setting all read/write caching is turned off both for the device and for windows. You can change it to be optimised for speed under properties, then caching will be turned on, but you will need to use the unplug feature to unplug it safely. I have not made any speedtest under these settings but theoretically this should speed up the transferspeed.
Hi numb,
Do you have made some test with such settings?
I could test it if you give me more hints on how to change the settings on windows (was not able to find the good item where to get the properties field :$ )
I find it also really boring to have such a slow speed transfer rate... For a brilliant hanset such as the K750i, it s really annoying
Thanks for your reply
