Most of the other phones suggested in here have horribly noisy sticky out buttons, or super squidgy unresponsive ones though. I'd still go with the z600 from the one's mentioned despite it's size. Best keypad i've ever used, reminds me of the old classy glassy ericsson buttons in fact, all nice and flush with the phone.

I think the z200 is the slowest texting phone i have ever tried, the letter you typed needs to have finished appearing on the screen when you type the next one.. really annoying... does anyone feel the same? or is it just the z200 I've tried which is so bad?

I hate to say it, but for texting I found that the old Nokia 3310/30 and the 6310/i were the best - nice and quick, and buttons that were big and had a nice feel to them.
I found my old K700i was pretty good for texting too - although the buttons were a little too close at times!

All sony ericsson are good texting phones, especially if you're biligual (or multilingual) and need to write in different languages. With the SE you just have to hold the # key for two seconds and it'll give you the choice of selecting the writing language so it can change the T9 dictionary accordingly. With other brands you actually have to go to the settings menu to change the phone language so the menus and the T9 are in the language chosen which is a very annoying thing!!
Kudos to sony ericsson for this!!!!!!!!!!

I like the T9 predictive text on the K700i. Take the time to add you own specific words such as uncommon names or local place names and it works even faster. The buttons are a little close together but if you compose you texts on
MyPhoneExplorer or similar software this ceases to be a problem.
Of course, MPE works with the K750i too...
