I have to say that I find the ads in the middle of threads to be rather annoying. The ads at the bottom of the page aren't too bad although I can't say I like them very much either. One of the things I liked about Esato was the fact that there weren't ads plastered all over it.
I really do hope laffen doesn't opt for those awful advertisments imbedded within the posts themselves. Basically certain words are highligted in a post and when you hover your mouse over them they display a relevant advert e.g. hove rover the word 'mobile' and you may get ana dvert for mobile phones. HoFo has these adverts and they are extremely annoying and ruin a good thread if you ask me.
Of course all of this is up to laffen and he can do whatever he likes with regards to advertising or anything else concerning Esato for that matter, but I for one am giving this caper a thumbs down.

i to have just noticed that the adverts are appearing under the first post in new threads. IMHO this looks awefull! the ones at the bottom of the page are fine but this is just going too far. Like others i have always like esato as it doesn't bombard you with advertising. But this is definately a step in the wrong direction!

Anyone can place ads from Google at their homepage...
