hmm my phone is a brown one should i keep the brown and flash to a red R1L?or a w880i?

It is unlikely you will be able to flash to w800i. Only "development" phones can be done at home at the moment. You could try and see if yours is development, try at www.davinciteam.com , try download software and read cid. If it says you have brown phone you are in luck, red and you can't do it yourself. You'd have to send it away to somebody if it is red, though even then most phone servicers won't do it due to warnings from SE.

kingqueen, I thought that it was generally easier to unbrand and flash-convert red
phones, not the brown ones. Well, in my case I have a K750i, and it has the Vodafone
firmware, and it is CID 49, brown, unlocked when I received it. Have a look at these TMS sites --

What I'm not clear on is, since I don't need to unlock, I just want to debrand and flash,
what is the minimum cable requirement ... and if I have the DaVinci 2in1 cable, do I
still need to buy one from KingMobilePhone or FoneFunShop, and is the Fighter different
from the Cruiser and different from the DaVinci? (I don't think that I can do the job
using DaVinci's client since I have CID 49, Brown) Larry.

of us who have a 49 handset (I have a CID 49 K750i, it has Vodafone's customization)
do not have as many possibilities for flashing and unlocking. I've read that you cannot
really change the CID number, since later on it will conflict with the phone's IMEI number.
And it is not legal to modify the IMEI. There is a way to increase the CID number to
a higher level, but in your case CID 36 is a good thing and I don't know any reason why
you would want to change that. Larry
