Smoking was more popular 50+ years ago as the health problems were'nt known then, it was more socially acceptable, cool, and I think some people even thought it PROMOTED health!!
It's only declined in popularity due to widespread knowledge and acceptance of it's hazards.
And before anyone flames me - I smoke myself at the moment! I'm not a huge smoker - about 6-8 a day, and I smoke Superkings Blue (Formerly Superkings lights) or Mayfair Superkings.
How many a day do the other smokers here smoke?
Speaking of which, I'm just popping out for one now.....
