I'm not sure about Opera Mini, but with Opera 6.20 (Symbian, unfortunately) upwards you certainly can. I'll tell ya this much, it's a brilliant app, i've got it set up so that it activates automatically when i turn my phone on.

Try his, it worked for me:
Download this in the WAP browser:
http://davidpye.com/wap/opera.jar, refuse to run it immediately
Then download this:
http://davidpye.com/wap/opera.jad, overwrite the pre-existing installation, DO NOT run it immediately.
Once installed in the Applications dir quit the WAP browser and load the proggy.
