Awful news, the death toll just keeps on rising and what makes it difficult is that the place is so remote, making it hard to reach for the relief agencies.
It said on the news that people have started looting too. Its hard for me to understand why people start looting when a disaster has happened, I mean haven't those poor people lost enough!

And they're saying an entire generation has been all but wiped out. There was something on our local news about an organisation that had forged links with something like 152 schools in the affected area, and it sounds like EVERY ONE of those schools has been flattened with thousands of schoolchildren killed

I am just wondering how will this be compared to the killer tsunami that hit Sri Lanka/Indonesia, in terms of casualties/numbers

over 40000. not good. i think the looting over there is a little diffirent than in the states. there people really have no relief as they are in remote parts. so i can see why they are looting.it is nice that India is offering some help to pakistan

@green - Yeah, I hope that the issue of 'nuclear-supremacy' between the two will be set aside for the moment specially at times like this . . .

@jn it's a nice gesture i hope that after it is all said and done the two countrys can come to some sort of an agreement about there issues at hand. Now there is winter coming and 3 million homeless. now there worried about mud slides. can it get any worse for there people.

horrific. a whole generation of kids gone! That's heart breaking. Hopefully better co-operation between India and pakistan will be an outcome of all this devestation...
Makes you wonder, what's next? We've had Tsunami's, Killer Hurricanes, Earthquakes. If I lived near a volcano I'd be moving...
