2 be honest the whole TV thing with the nokia n92 is stupid in my opinion as your watching tv on a very very small screen, its just a gimmick and yes i do think that se will follow in suit eventually but its not something that will ever interest me. SE P990 all day in my with or without the small tv eye strainer gimmick.

For the N92 to have any impact on anything there needs to be committed support from broadcasters for DVB-H.. is there? In the UK this week Sky (one of the biggest subscription broadcasters in the world) launched a multichannel TV package over Vodafone Live that literally any 3G phone can receive, it's free now and it'll be £5 a month next year.. who needs the N92?
The other argument is whether anyone wants TV on the move at all... pocket TV's are nothing new - they've been around since the early eighties - but they've never been big business. Is that really going to change?

Tv on the phone? No way...
Haven't watched tv for 5 years now, and it's probably not supported by any provider here in Hungary anyways.
Gimme that p990 with the touchscreen and the keyboard! (yeah the keyboard _does_ rule, whatever anyone says)

I agree the TV is a joke, but is a novelty never the less. And people don't confuse it with shitty internet tv please. The N92 has a digital tv receiver/decoder build in ! You could stream the decoded tv picture over wifi to your laptop/pc ! It also will have to have a very fast processor to decode the signal.(the p990 has thie same as the 1year on the market 6630).I want a N90 even more then a N80 or P990 now. Also don't forget one crucial thing: The P990 will be a bit 'handicaped' when it comes out because is not compatibale with the old Pxx.And lastly - please SE,get your build quality back on track if you want me to buy your products ! (note the word please) I am using for over 3y a blokia and yes call it a brick if you want but remember, a brick has also its qualities. The joystick button is over 1mm shorter now because of wear (phisical plastic wear) but it never missed a click :-) well done BLOKIA !

In term of features ... N92 have xtra of DVB-H TV broadcast receiver, EDGE, Video recording up to 352 x 288 pixels, PTT ... but of cause P990i has it own strength as well - QWERTY keyboard and touchscreen ... so they are target at different market segment.
N91 vs N92 vs P990i
= Music vs TV vs Business/Professional

Buddy, talking about business v. non business use, both cells are pretty well matched.Same screen size (2.8 in) input is more versatile on the P but quite/more practical on the S60. (Actually on a S60 device with a few hours of practice one can tippe and send a sms without even taking the cell out of the poked !) I still think the slow speed and lack of software may tell against the P990.The Nokia 7710 is a good example ! (Althou SE will be more then happy to mach the sells of the 7710 with their P990i.)

@Mario - on the one hand you say TV is a joke but will sell because of the "novelty", but on the other hand you start talking about the relative quality of net-based TV and DVB-H... don't you realise that consumers won't even look into that? TV is TV, if every 3G phone on the market (including the P990 in time) claims to have the novelty of TV, why is anyone going to look twice at the N92? Also, you should be aware that the N92's decoding of DVB will almost certainly take place on a dedicated chip - it'll have no absolutely no bearing on speed of the main processor used for Series 60 etc.
As for build quality, your comments simply show you've not been near a SE phone in some time, if ever.
Finally, on the P990's "handicap" of little software, it's quite clear that the conversion from UIQ2 to 3 is quite a simple one for most apps, and developers still have a few months to do it - you can be sure that it will launch with a strong software lineup already in place. Remember that the P800 was in a much worse position when it was released, but that didn't seem to handicap it one bit...

Buddy, let me first comment on the things I know for certain.-YOU ARE NO C++ PROGRAMMER - Right ? Wow ,how did I know that ? Very simple,if you talk about 'converting' UIQ2 to 3 that you have no clue what's going on and buy SE's public stunt.I program since '84 in C and later C++. Now I don't want to contradict you but remember this from a old man.Just about all the applications will have to be rewritten for the new os. Not only the user interface has changed (3) but also the operating system (9.1) also to top everything up the screen resolution is different too! In theory at least it will be easier to change a N92 program to work on a P990 then a old Pxx program ! Surprised ? (Hint : N92 and P990 share at least the os ! ) Now on the speed of the N92. Even if the digital tv decoder is done by hardware, the core CPU must dispaly the picture. This can be done with a separate chip too as in the P990 ,but still the N92 overall speed will be up because the graphic is taken care of.

hmm, actually i think TV on a phone is pretty neat.
but this DVB-H thing sounds more of a streaming thing to me than true television.
i don't want to pay extra for it.
give me my standard channels that i have on my TV at home. don't want "special content" provided by my carrier, like "vodafone-tv" and "o2-music" and what not.
how many times have you been in a meeting or somewhere and you miss your favorite tv-show(s).
i'd watch on my p990.
but only if it were free!
