Speed cameras are improperly used revenue generators, if it wasn't the government that ran them they would be illegal, due to the dodgy tactics used. Look at wheel clampers. OK, we don't have them here in Scotland (thankfully the courts here saw sense and declared them illegal) but i was watching a programme the other week about them, and, my God, they really are vultures. hearses, police cars, an ambulance...

speed cameras are a joke at the moment.... why fine someone aswell as give them points???? like it has been said many times in the post, they are simply there to generate cash!

as much as i would hate to get banned, wouldnt it be better to simply hand out points - then the repeated offenders would get punished???? also then the police could concentrate on accident blackspots rather than areas where they could 'catch you out'

cycovision, i feel for you bro in law mate - thats harsh! i would of fought against that mate

I got a better idea!!!

Why not stick a picture with a car driving past over the lens, so everytime it picks up a speeding car, it always takes the same picture!!!!!

what i dont get about speed cameras is. surely the safety way to drive is to be actually watching the road and using your mirrors, i dont see how you can do this effctivly if your looking at your speedo every 2 secs to make sure your doing the limit.
whats worse doing 34 when a child runs out and you see it so you can brake or doing 30 and not see and therefore not applying the brakes

i agree with all thats been said, and its not fair for all those caught only a couple k's or miles over, no speedo is that accurate enough so you maybe over without knowing. concerning accuracy, in here in Tasmania we recently had redlight cameras switched off as people were being fined for no apparent reason. it was said that the manufactured of the cameras stated that they were not up to scratch.

We got a camera here thats at the bottom of a decline and it set at 60km/h speed limit!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its so dangerous coz every1 knows bout it and starts braking from 120+ downhill to 60km in the fast lane, almost everyday theres an acident there!!!

And still nothings been done bout it!!
