TomTom Go 700
as my favourite of 2005 as it truely is fantastic!
p.s. I know your only messing and I'm sure as my 8800 arrives it will be fully justifies in my head

The nokia 8800 is too much of
'Just a phone' to be the best gadget of 2005,
Disqualifiers:
-Basic S40 UI (No OS, just basic Java support)
-SVGA Camera (Not even 1Megapixel)
-Very basic form factor, One may say 'Uninspired'
on a more positive note, it may qualify as the sexiest gadget of 2005 (it may be tied with the v3 and nano).

@defensive: I have nothing to say on if its a wrong or right decision, but I can (and have) argue that its not a contender for the best gadget of 2005 (as I have already done so).
On Topic:
Anyone consider the Nokia N90? It does seem quite gadgety. Also the iAudio PMP.
