Yes, a master reset deletes your non-factory data. That is why it only becomes an option when you've tried everything else and the next option in line is to send it back to a service point.

I ordered a datacable (I can use it at work) so I'm going to backup the phone, and do a master reset (how do I do this, is is in the manual) I hope it 'll work 'cause the other problem I have is a soft Speaker (even with the volume set on max and no not the ringtone volume) maybe it 'll cure that to (I also put in a new speaker)

Well, my datacable arrived yesterday and I did a total reset on my phone (after a serious backup of cource) and 1 problem I think is cured. I got volume again in my speaker now lets see if the infrared is working OK.
