mmmmm not sure about the bbq sauce, either ketchup or fruity depending on my mood and if hungover
washed down with a double dose of resolve 'and' a mug of tea

Mine is definately Tournedos Rossini.
To anyone not familiar with this dish (although it is nothing new, and was probably a cliche already in the '90s) it comprises a Tournedos(i.e. the best part of the tenderloin (of beef)). To this, you add foie gras and truffles (in my opinion, preferably black). The sauce is made in different ways, according to the chef. For the sauce I prefer to add a small amount of Madeira, Cognac and Port to the pan which was used to cook the tournedos and foie gras, adding the truffles and some stock. Reduce the sauce quickly and add to the dish.

French toast for breakfast at the Byzantium Cafe on Ponsonby Rd.
(Sliced baguette dipped in egg/milk, toasted; topped with grapes, sliced orange and kiwifruit; drizled with maple syrup, sprinkled with icing sugar).
Can't be beaten in my opinion. My wife always get the Sweetcorn fritters with salsa and mesculun.
