I'm just wondering what fps is that encoded at?
it wouldn't play in pvplayer or quicktime7, but nero showtime played it fine.
But it didn't look entirely smooth, it looked to be about 15-20 frames per second?
Getting my w900i in the next day or two, so i'm curious.

Its deliberately encoded in 15fps, in order to be able to keep a highquality bitrate. I value picture and sound quality higher than fps.
You can encode 25fps for the W900 but then you have to lower bitrate, which will affect picture and or sound quality.

Hey, thanks for the info
what program are using to encode btw? my w900 arrives tomorrow or thursday, and i want to encode a couple of movies ready for it. I don't need a detailed walkthrough or anything, just the app, and any codecs i'd need to download. Cheers.

Nero Recode will do the job just fine using the portable profile, but will provide a 25fps video, slightly softer quality.
This video was encoded using freeware tools and highq filters to try and optimize quality.
Virtualdubmod with different filters (like denoise and sharpen) for the videoconversion, codec used Xvid
DBpoweramp for the audioconversion to aac/mp4
Finally Mp4Box to mux them together.

Ah cool, i'm pretty familiar with virtualdub, so the video is encoded with xvid? i wasn't aware the w900 supported xvid compression. I thought it was 3gp or mpeg4 only.
Anyway thanks for the info.
I set up a mirror of your video btw.
