Are there NO official independent benchmark figures for mobile processors?Surely the manufacturers must have some reference source on which to base their HW decisions?I would also end speculation about this issue.

Why don't SE make personal tones for Short Messaging or Multimedia Messaging, because almost every day we receive Message more than Phone. With personal tones we can known who send message without open message first. Thanks

@willows, I think you're in the wrong thread.

I'm really interested with the 30fps CIF video recording. This plus all the promised features will make this phone a real hit. I wonder why SE didn't use a 3.2MP camera if the CPU is capable of 4MP.

There is realiable information that the P990 camera speficications are going to change.

Just read the last part of the Eldar's review:
http://www.mobile-review.com/[....]onyericsson-p990part4-en.shtml

"The camera is going to be changed, as well as its technical specifications"

@_LAU_, thanks. It says there that video recording is only at 15fps at the moment. I really hope they change the specs to have 3.2MP camera and handle CIF at 30fps video recording.

why only cif?? i would like to see vga resolution, like in the nokia 6280!! that would be really cool and they could beat the nokia and give us 30 fps....

The new chipset from Philips (Nexperia) is the one responsible for the improvement on realtime compression.
I believe they would have made a higher frame rate if there was not some limitation, like resolution, too large memory buffers or even flash write speed.
I would love to be proved wrong though.

Maybe soneone eventually develops a better camcorder software after the P990 launch.

I have over 3000 address books with pics in my 910i. I ll be happy if we can learn whether the 910 personal data such as address book be directly transferable to 990 with the full compatibility.?
