I agree with you fully. I had a K750i myself. It actually was a great phone but time has passed... SonyEricsson hasn't provided me with a more "PDA"-like phone so I had to switch. Do you want an advice?
Personally I own an Orange-branded SPV M5000 and it is the greatest I ever had. Yes it is big, a bit bulky, but feature-wise it is practically unbeatable.

This "phone" has a touchscreen which can be viewed vertically (PDA Style) or horizontally (with a qwertz keyboard).
Camera:
1 x 1.3Mpx on the back
1 x VGA on the front
The whole screen can be turned to "close" the phone and yet you can answer calls.
What did I forget?
Ah, yes, stereo speakers on the phone and, of course, stereo headset. And you can charge it simply over USB 2.0 connection, as well as with the usual charger (which you connect to the USB plug in the phone)
This phone is great, I can carry the whole office and sync tons of information, as well as my MediaPlayer playlists.
Simply great phone. I waited ages before buying it, because I have been a long time SonyEricsson fan. But since nothing like that was even on the drawing board I proceeded and am very happy with it (only negative is weight and battery time by heavy usage).

bt-maniac, yes, i used it all the time before having a psp...now i use the psp to browse the net wirelessly at home, without having to use the pc, but before i used my k750 + opera mini via bluetooth

I'm using right now a SE W800i, and I'm gonna tell you one thing that I really appreciate of the new SE phones, it gives the possibility to the users to make themselves the firmware upgrades. It's not a thing that you can make with Nokia phones.
My next phone definitively MUST have this feature. No more service centre for me.
SE and Nokia phones are great, but both are full of bugs, and you all know that, but if you have the option to upgrade yourself the firmware, that's a great thing.

Except for #6 these are all things I've gotten used to from using serveal Nokias in time, and suddenly NO!
I know what you SE-fanatics will try to defend it with: "It's not a smartphone"!
No, you're right: The K750i is definately NOT smart, but it sure doesn't have to be a dedicated smartphone to allow for these rather simple options.
And the fanatic totally non-userfriendly DRM-obstructions of Sony just makes it all worse!!!
Well, we should have been warned with the rootkit-case...
And, with all the DRM-hazzle, which totally destroys the overall usage of the phone, it is still realtive simple to get pirate-software, if you really want to!
And, in fact, the DRM-policy of Sony just makes it more preferred to get your hands on pirate-software, since with the pirate-versions of the software you can delete,back-up and re-install it.
And, having paid big bucks for my GPRS-downloaded software, that's sometimes I feel I have the right to: Back-up my software, and keep on using it, even if buying a new phone in the future!
No doubt that I will make myself a big spokesman for the company deciding on Nokia next time, and in the meantime, I'll go and buy one for my own money - probably the new N9300i
Oh, and on a personal remake: The K750i is WAY too small! What is it with this that cellphones have to be so damm lousy small!?!
Well, just my complains over the K750i - if I'm wrong, please, do feel free to argue that I'm wrong, 'cause it really annoys me that a phone which has been hyped so much is so lousy!
"It's not a smartphone" .. now thats out the way .. Whats with the completely unneeded rant about DRM ? Sony is not DIRECTLY Sony Ericsson, if anything
has probably influenced Sony more to use mp3 than their own protected formats.
I don't think it needs to be argued, tbh it just doesn't seem like it's for you, but then i would argue over the size thing, to me its fine. (Though i went w800 instead)
A couple of your points are right on the money, and i'd like to see a proper fax modem in them too, but others..
2) is already explained in the thread, the handsfree acts as the antenna. Maybe they've tried an internal one and found the reception worse? Either way I don't think it's that bad. I guess i'm not that picky?
5) FTP isn't exactly a general need, though individuals needs on this can be high, general need isn't. If they ever make candy bar smartphones, that of course can be cured.
9) Sure faster usb speed woudl be nice, it'll probably come in time as wel, compared to the speeds of the ericsson connector though its absolutely wonderful.
12) I'd kind of lump zip with FTP to be perfectly honest. I don't see it as a biggie personally.

About phone calls with psp, well, it won´t take long, because if you have socom + headset you can talk to other people through the net, so its a matter of time for Sony to use this to promote VOIP with the psp...its a logical step

When I went to my local Vodafone shop recently I looked at purchasing the N70 or the K750i, the shop assistant refused to sell me the N70 because he said there were lots of software issues with it and that there were nearly as twice as many warranty returns as some of the other phones.
I'm happy I went with the k750i if that was the case.
