WEll as far as we know there isnt any Ericsson mobile platforms used by SE phones, for the most part. That doesnt mean that their technology isnt being used. the hardware & chipsets most likely is designed by the Ericsson engineering team all employed by Sony anyway.
I'd seriously like to see the new CyberShot CMOS chipset & glass used in upcoming SE phones though, making them more proficient at quality photos.
The reason Sony left palm before Palm released 5.0.1 was because Palm's license dictated that any advancement needed to be shared to Palm to be distributed by Palm to other licensees. Sony made great strides like the Memory Stick, on screen handwritting recognition but it was specific to the core OS in Graffiti. Sony didnt want to get ripped off any longer. I suspect that with Windows it would be the same. The only hardware diversification we see is hardware design, cpu/video support via chipset/screen size arrangement & resolution. other than that sure the cases are different but I dont exactly say that the Razr is a new development. its pretty pathetic if thats what we have to wait a year for.
