4 £1500 get a mk3 golf gti. Probably in good nick and the 2.0 8v engine is nippy enough and cheap to insure. Great cars

Just be careful you don't get one that's been abused by boy racers. There's a lot of thrashed examples out there!
And watch the insurance if you're under 21, it'll be a killer!
I had a 2.0 16v Cavalier GLS (not even the SRi version) when I was 20, insurance was over £1,050!
my insurance on my mini (1275cc) is £1200!!

@ P900 LOVER
Dont be put off by a slightly higher price on some cars, most people/dealers will aim the price slightly higher than they realistically expect to get so haggle with them.
206's for 1500 are rare, cheapest are aroung 2k, you could always try and haggle the dealer to get down to £1500 though.

I see Dicky Snapples over there has a 1275GT...very nice! Getting rarer and rarer these days, they are. Insurance on thoise are higher than a Cooper.
Fiesta 1.25 Zetec mate, ideal for your situation and budget - But only if you cant find a mini

I would take the Fiesta, build quality is better, its an all round better car than the Punto.
