Anyone who says they can't get used to the Mac, just hasn't spent enough time trying! Think of the amount of time (years, possibly) you've invested getting used to the 'Windows' way of doing things - which most people will agree is not always easy... (installing new hardware, getting a new bit of software to run, fixing a Windows problem)
Often, when PC users use a Mac for the first time, they get stuck because they don't try the simplest things. They're so used to things being complicated on Windows, that they expect them to be complicated on a Mac. When they're shown how to do something on a Mac, they can't believe it's so simple - they completely overlook the most obvious, simple solution just because they expect it to be harder!
For example, installing and deleting applications. PC users instantly look for an installer, when for the majority of Mac apps, you just drag and drop the program into the Applications folder. Same with un-installing. Most Mac apps don't have an uninstaller - you just drag the app to the Trash and empty it.

Ha ha, lol that is so true.
The rest of what you siad is also right, I renember when I first used a mac I was looking for the apps but had no idea where they were, but then low and behold in the application folder... simple as pie.

luke no offence but why is it all of a sudden you've become a mac nut?
lol, all of a sudden? Ive been a mac nut ever since I got mine like 5-6 months ago, after using pc's for over 7 years its nice to use something different, my pc got to the stage where it was unusable, I had reformatted etc numerous times, but after all of them it still had loads of bugs, but it wasnt the hardware. Now I am a mac fan, and rate mac's as the best computer systems ever, though I knwo not everyone likes them -esp my girlfriend who wants to kill me when I go on about how good they are
i noticed that, ever since you converted to mac-ism you been rabbiting on about it lol. Your countless topics and the millions of ipods you have to sell. with the pc thing it must be somthing you were doing wrong lol. I have had pc's and i have never really had any issues with them. and to be honest i have played about with mac and linux and i really cant tell the diffrence between them....there both...whats the word..........crap lol. kidding too many fanboys/girls who will be offended lol.

I prefer windows for various reasons. One example is the many 16bit 10 year old and over windows programs that still work perfectly, even though they where designed for Win95 or even Win3.1. You don't get that same level of backwards compatibility with apple mac.
However you can't argue that the mac interface isn't easy - it's much simpler than windows and more user friendly for a novice. And their hardware is better, but by no means immune to hardware problems. If you think about it - if you exclude all but the most reliable pc vendors in a survey of reliability you'd probably find them just as reliable as apple - what this shows is that the apple hardware is reliable, but that a PC with reliable hardware can be just as reliable as a mac.
Infact as a system admin a couple of years ago, looking after a 200 odd machine lan, I found reliability was directly proportional to the quality of the hardware. If we used predominately intel boards, we had few problems, whereas Aopen, Asus we had a much higher frequency of blown or dodgy motherboards.

Lol, tbh I do go on a bit, but have been doing so for the last 6months lol, I gota say the ipod thing is achually because I have changed my market, I now sell mp3 players instead of phone most of the time as I can make more of a mark up and theres allot less risk of them being barred etc. About my pc troubles, I was doing nothing wrong, my bro is a poc geek and as a result I was a it technition for a while, till I got bored of it. I wsnt the kind to install a ton of shit, but it got to the stage when i couldnt even update my ipod properly, I just got tired of the layout, os, programs not working, slow response time, lack of inbuilt security. It just did my head in so here I am mac fan boy and loving it lol

no offence intended luke, but I don't understand how you could have so many problems. All my PC's and any others I maintain run without all the problems you mention. They are stable, fast, efficient, and secure.
Yes MAC computers are more secure out of the box, but any decent tech ought to know how to secure a windows pc, and also how to keep it running efficiently and reliably. Once a PC is setup properly you should be able to avoid those problems. I have many friends who use PC's and none of them have problems with viruses, adware etc (because their systems have been setup by a competent tech, me, and because I hammer them whenever they let AV get out of date). They also don't have crashes, slowness, lockups etc. All that can be avoided, trust me (most slowness in home computers is caused by adware or unnecessary background utilities - adware is easy to eliminate with any number of good free adware scanners and the useless utilities can be disabled).
Not dissing your choice, I respect your preference for Mac. I'm just not convinced that you can blame the problems you had on Windows. You make it sound like no matter what you do Windows will always have problelms - that simply isn't true. That's coming from a REAL computer tech with thousands of hours of commercial experience.
