Hi everyone!

Got the dreaded call today from SMART..saying that I can "enjoy" their Free GPRS till October 13 (Sunday!)...

Anyway, I still can't send email from my t68i thru HotPOP or MyRealBox...it says server not found...was hoping to email some fotos I've taken with the MCA-20 hehe

Anyway, hope the telco's won't rob us blind with their charges!

@Arnoldc - any clues with the settings for my email? appreciate the help! Till the next EB!

@arnoldc: bkit po ang pagkaka compute nyo ng kilobyte usage, sum of both bytes sent & recivd? Ang globe kc tentativ rate is 30cents per kb SENT. So its possible na mag-iba pa yon if ever mag-start na sila mag-charge? :-( This post was posted from a T68i

anyone from smart here who make a bright suggestion to your bosses to include free gprs usage (feasible kb usage) on their postpaid plans. just like free airtimes/sms per plan.

I don't think there are enough GPRS users in both Smart and Globe for them to come up with "data plans" just yet. Right now, Smart charges P0.50/kb BOTH ways (up & downloaded data) for both WAP and INTERNET access... Globe's WAP apn is still free, Globe's INTERNET apn also charges P0.50/KB BOTH ways.

AFAIK, both Smart and Globe charge P5/MMS sent. Incoming MMS is free.

a little bit of clarification on jplacson's statement on WAP charging...

if you connect to WAP via GPRS and surf Smart's I-NET it is not charged per kb, but rather per session. Each session is P2.50 regardless of the length of the session. So if you stick to the I-NET site and its contents, you only pay P2.50 per session.

@arnold... oh! so as long as you stay on their WAP page, it's P2.50 per session? Does Smart only have one gateway? Or 2 also like Globe?

Globe charges only when you use the internet.globe.com.ph gateway. The www.globe.com.ph gateway is still free.
