You just can't pack lot of features into thin air. Everybody wants a tiny phone with a big screen and a lotta features just not possible. P series size is ok in my opinion.

Id say the P990i is at its end and that the P series will be replaced by the M610i possibley next btw a upto date camera would be good for the next SE smart.

Did any of you hear of "trinity' - TyTN's successor ? Has got most of the features you chaps ask for. On the other hand, if you want a phone more then a palmtop, have a look at the N73. Off course, if you are 'stuck' to one brand only, you may lose out big time. Trinity is my next cell :D

I still don't see why a business phone should have a camera. Dump it. IR?, Dump it. Poncy headphone sockets?. It's got BT, dump it. In fact, by the time teh P100 would be out, Wi-fi will have completely taken over. Dump the BT too! GPS could be built into a car holder. It's not needed on the main phone. Complicated "power" socket? Dump it. the bloomin phone costs over £400. You can afford to make on lousy special connector (still for a standard SE charger of course!).
Trim the fat, and it could be a great looking, slimline, powerpacked masterpiece.
i agree with the power socket part and to some extent the IR but thats about it.
i don't consider the P series business phones, more like phones that can be very useful to a business person but not exclusively. keep the camera but make it 3 or 4 mpx, make the video a quality item like samsungs or nokia N93. have a PROPER flash too. headphone socket is a must for media listening. BT and WIFI keep, GPS? built in would be nice but a third party receiver over BT is acceptable. Not all people use GPS in a car so GPS cradles are not everyones answer. hikers, pushbikes, etc. a great use for GPS is if you attend a big event with acres of cars or motorbikes parked. setting your parking space as a favourite is a great way of finding your vehicle 8 hours later. loose the Qwerty on the main phone, put it back on the flip and give us a huge screen with either the 5 way jog dial back OR one of those thumb pad things as on the 990 flip outer below a slightly bigger screen than is current. so it looks similar to an N80 if you remove the flip and have the same flip front as a 990. that way flip on or off you have a thumb pad to navigate with.
on a down side, to cram all this into a smaller package or even the same you can bet your first born that a new P series phone will use the new tiny duo cards and not the ones we all have now.

• Has anyone heard rumours about Apple releasing a touchscreen based device? There are several patents and a deal with Samsung (or another manufacturer) for touch screens already being filled.
• To me it seems that SE is losing interest in the P series phones. This is going to be a mistake, especially if Apple releases a tablet (Newton-esque) video iPod. You'll see. Then other manufacturer's will jump on the band wagon.
• Everytime I pull out my P910i there is someone who is fascinated and wants one. A better marketing push would bump the sales and kerpow- SE injects more cash into P series development... Dream on I guess.

Not wishing to sound rude, but this is meant to be a thread discussing "P1000" design. In other words suggestions and debate about features, form factor, and other matters relating to product design.
Perhaps we could restrict our comments to comparisons and explanations as to why you prefer a phone over another, rather than just "big upping" your favourite brand.
