1) plz post ur settings here along with ur location!!!
2) if u got activated gprs just only by sending an sms on prepaid ,
then i would say u r very lucky!!!!!!!!!!!
3)speeds r abt 5-10kbps less than Airtel's (spartan's) free gprs(at least at my place) !!!!
4)this is also true that bsnl's all tower r not data capable !!
as i have already mentioned the best qualities of bsnl in initial posts--
completely cheap stuff --just wann rope in many and many subscribers only and wnna use the cheapest technology with minimum expenditure that can help them in that!!!!!
all towers at major city places r gprs capable!!!
5)as far as i know airtel gprs(legal one!! not the spartan's gprs) and airtel's mobile office r the same!!! so apn r also same i.e.airtelgprs.com!!!!
only 3 services r ther on airtel--airtel live, airtelgprs/mobile office, net on phone!!

I also have same settings stored in phone. But GPRS still not activated.

that nobody from bsnl, havin a 3rd largest mobile customer base
is reporting!!!!!!!!!!!
i feel sometimes like bombarding all the bsnl related stuff in whole country!!!!!!!!!!
