heard from the person that upgraded my sw that the auto reset is one of the new features on the R3B.

I'm using Palmscape to surf the web and had no problems with the auto reset problem..

i agree wif u that it's very irritating when the phone just resets by itself.. hope that ericsson solves this in the next sw ver.. =)

My phone also has the R3B006 (upgraded just two weeks ago) and it had problems with syncing the first time... I had to reset the phone... then it worked.

if you would master reset the phone, would it erase all my phonebook contacts?

a master reset will delete ALL custom information in your phone (including custom T9 dictionary words, address book entries, WAP settings, etc)

Yup it will and everything else... What I do is I usually update by syncing, then I export my phone list in a text format just for added protection. Its so dificult to input all the numbers you have one by one even with the ericsson destop program that comes with the CD.

Just got my T39m upgraded to R3B today and the same resetting problem happens like hell. I also found that the phone works perfectly OK if the SIM card has no GPRS enabled!

I called Ericsson again in the afternoon and they can downgrade my phone back to R3A tomorrow, which I hope works without such problems. BTW, there is only one Ericsson customer service centre in Singapore still has R3A, all rest are using R3B now. People suffer from R3B may consider to downgrade as well.

Just got mine upgraded from R2S001 to R3B006 about an hour ago. First thing i checked was the icons in the "Recent Calls" list (You have no idea how many times i've been burnt by them not being there!!!), then i checked to see what info and settings i'd have to put back in after the upgrade - I'm happy to report NONE! I have my key-click set to silent, and even THAT was the same. All names, numbers, Data accounts, ring-tones, background graphics, etc the same.
Checked the GPRS connection still worked, no dramas at all.
Now i'm off to check if it's helped resolve any of my IrDA synch'ing problems!
