what about the K618?
I kind be the only one who knows about it. ok i'm an oldie, but still you young people should've find some sites where you can find some info a day or 2 sooner.

No. The operators even use different standards so its one or the other. NTTDocomo are definitely intent on World domination.

WHAT a BIG LET DOWN....a WCDMA version which don't allow WCDMA phone not meant for their network to ROAM on...it just sound stupid.
Meaning whoever need to roam in Japan need to suffer from the Japan Vodafone poor coverage....anyway I guess this don't impact everyone since not everyone travel to japan that often...if you go as a tourist...for sure you don't want the phone to bug you all the time....in another way it is good hehehe

just out of curiosity, does it mean that if your are on O2 or KPN you need an i-mode compatible phone to use the services or are they accessible to regular 3G phones?

Correct me if I'm wrong but I heard you can browse i-Mode pages on wap but you can't purchase anything or take advantage of any deals on there etc.

your assumption might be correct...I used my W550 to check out some japan iMODE site before...sometime back.....it work as normal
but a lot of those things cannot be download or purchased....most likely it have some over the air download service tht we cannot use.
