look i know that south africa, is a country in africa - and im not overly sure what the country is like really...but i know it has its bad parts and also its good parts - i expect it to be ready for the 2010 world cup - might go even if i have enough cash then lol - probably will go to euro 2008

im sure the same speculation was put on germany, 4 years ago when they had to start work. i dont know, but i think people may think there is corruptness or something in the south african goverment which may lead to the money going else-where rather than to the world cup

Baring in mind that the new Wembly stadium will be the best and most expensive sports stadium in the world...

Although its for racing and not footy, this stadium blows wembly out of teh water....... 200,000 capacity....

http://www.worldstadiums.com/[....]a/china/shanghai_circuit.shtml

an who said S africa werent ready..... 90,000 capacity tadium and a lil research shows they have a fair few stadiums......

http://www.worldstadiums.com/[....]gauteng/johannesburg_fnb.shtml

personally i feel wembley is a utter dissapointment - i fear it will suffer a simular fate to the millenium dome - but will that be turned iinto a super casino

Sorry if that offends anyone, but that my opinion on the matter

Yeah cool. Though it has already been said that Wembley when finished will be the most expensive and best sporting arena anywhere in the world. Don't know about the capacity but obviously size wise (area taken up) it won't be, a football pitch and a racing track...

http://www.wembleystadium.com/

Wembley Facts...

*The new Wembley is expected to cost a staggering £750m, making it the most expensive sporting arena in the world.

*The new stadium in north London is due to open in 2006.

*There will be a removable running track, cutting the capacity to 68,400 for staging athletics.

*It will seat 90,000 and will have a 'triumphant arch' to replace the Twin Towers.

*Leg room is greatly increased and now measures more than was given in the Royal Box in the old stadium.

i had no idea this was replacing teh twin towers....... so im guessing london knew about teh 9/11 attacks befor ethey happened being as tis was submitted for planning on 16th November 1999 (quote: http://www.brent.gov.uk/Plann[....]8025682b0068cc0f!OpenDocument) basically its 1999.... so how on earth did anyone think this was gonnna replace the twin towers

Xugua i dont mean to rip it apart dude, but wembley is one of teh biggest jokes ive ever seen..... and 7 years after teh planning application it still aint finished... im asshamed to call it 'the best there is'

and one last thing, anyway, why on earth would the uk want to replace an american building?

also Daniel Libeskind will be pissed to hear that his freedom tower aint replacing the twin towers
