I got mine upgraded in a Car Phone Warehouse free of charge (didn't buy the phone from them).

They usually don't like upgrading just because you want the latest firmware so just say that you are experiencing problems like phone rebooting/locking up.

CPW also will fix other problems such as...

joystick
dust under screen (technicaly not under warranty but they do it)

...but the phone needs to be sent away for a couple of weeks.

well don't get too excited about this R5D thing. from reading the forum, i've seen many people mention that there is hardly any difference between R5C and R5D, i've got R5C. when it came back from the insurance company, i didn't notice it at all. its only until i read in this forum about it that i checked and they had updated it.

i don't see any change in speed or anything and i've been using this phone for quite a while.

I got the latest firmware R5D007 when I got mine upgraded last week. Only select CPW stores offer this service - I got mine done in Guildford (Market Street).

I have NOT noticed any improvements in speed sound quality, alert tones etc... after upgrading from a very old version R2A014. I have noticed a couple of extra features but that's as far as it goes. In fact I would have preferred to have stayed on my old version as this new one has problems with bluetooth and synchronising with my Parrot CK3000 car kit!

i have noticed since the R5D upgrade i have had a lot less memory on my phone than what i used to, i deleted all my pictures and most of my themes and sounds and stuff and roughly it says i have about 530kb memory when i used to get about 600-700kb, anyone know why? is anyone else having this same problem?
