That clicking is the same clicking as some of the Nokia phones do too. It is probably because its a plastic pat that lasts much longer....

Yes, it is true. I just gotten my 3rd replacment phone. Software level is 42R3A. However, local Ericsson cannot be sure this problem is already fix. Actually, you do not have to reboot the phone. Just make a outgoing call or outgoing SMS. The phone is back to alive.
So now, every morning I have to do this exercise just to make sure the phone is ok !!

maybe it is a sim-card problem.

No, it is not the phone hardware problem. Believe it is a software bug or by design. Return the phone to Ericsson. They cannot fix this problem. I use my T600 as a alarm clock now.

correct... and it's said to be fixed in the latest firmware... 45 R5A

as for that clicking i noticed that my t68i does the same. i dont like it either. as for the T600 is it worth getting over a T300?? they are both about the same price for my dad. thanx

The T600 is a phone with rather special properties; u buy it for its small size, the design, etc. which go with some restrictions. The keypad is one. I suppose that the hard buttons had to made in this way to make the keypad useable. What I read in reviews of the T66 is that the keypad was hard to use because the tiny buttons could easily be mis-pressed. The keys on the T600 with their 'hard' touch are more dedicated. The disadvantage is the sound. Personally, I find this to be less aproblem than I feared, because I do not use it in circumstances where there is complete silence. But I can understand the problem. People in shops should tell about this.
My former phone was a A2628s about which a lot can be said but the keypad was excellent and very silent. I could play Tetris during boring meetings. No way to play car race now! But one should not play games in meetings or class, however boring it is.
The A2628s also sometimes lot connection and had to be set off and on again. My T600 does not have this "bug".
As far as the comparison with the T300 is concerned, both are very different phones. The T600 is made for a very specific customer, who wants a sleek design, almost no weight and a small phone. That, it delivers! It has nothing fancy, no colour screen, no Java, no GPRS, no MMS, almost no possibilities to link it ot a computer, etc. In my opinion this is the best phone of the former generation. It has all the "old" technology at its best state (the interface, screen information, screen clarity, backlighting, reception, tri-band) but none of the newer technology. The T300 is bigger, costs less, weights more, can do gprs and mms, has a color screen (which is useless to me because the colors only give a nice look but do not add more information nor do they offer a better view on a screen with a lot of information on it) but is a scaled down version of the T68i which seems frustrating.
You can't have it all. The T600 puts you in front of some clear decisions. The compromises are obvious.
I like it a lot, but I can see why other people find it a waste of money. In my view it is the best option while waiting for the mass delopmentof GPRS/UMTS/MMS/colour/PDA functionality/ etcetera. When the T600 becomes obsolete, all this technology will hopefully be affordable. My next will be the sucessor of the Z1010, I hope.

My T600 doesn't recieve calls sometimes and says it's out of coverage although it's placed in an open air area and the signal strength indicator is full!! What can I do to make it recieve calls at anytime?? btw: I swapped it twice for that reason and the same problem still exists!!
