I am also having the same problem but with my p990. I had v7 of the firmware but just updated to v9 yet it has made no difference it still hangs.
Has anyone found a way to fix this yet?

I have a m600i and the mmr-60 I purchased at the same time as the phone also had the same problem that people mentioned in this thread. I called SE support to get a new mmr-60 and got one within a few days... the new one works flawlessly so this pretty much means that some transmitters out there simply have problems working with symbian phones... I don't have the non-working transmitter on me now, but the new one has a hardware revision of: R2A

the weird thing is in the list of supported phones: there is no m600 but m608 seems to support it.same at w950: no w950 supported, but w958 supports it

I also tested one on a p990 and only managed to do it one time, after a reboot and several attempts of connection. However the p1 is announced to support officially the mmr60 so i hope the other uiq3 phones will also get it via fw upgrade

hm, on some phones it works on others it doesn't. it works on a k750i but it doesn't on W950i and P990i. Both UIQs have newest firmware.
so unless sony ericsson REALLY starts to sort out all their pending bugs concerning accessories and phone firmwares, again something to bring back to the store hoping they will accept it.
ps: a friend wanted to buy the cable to connect the W950i to the stereo system. i told him to use the transmitter as it offers more possibilites (like playing in the car, at home, office etc,) without messing around with cables. sorry to be annoyed, but sony ericsson really, but really starts to p...me off!

Ok I was now able to get my hands on my original mmr-60 thta had problems... weird thing is that the hardware rev is R2B (the one that works is R2A) The only other person I see listing their hardware rev above also mentions R2B... can anyone else confirm the hardware rev (can be found on the little sticker on the back side) of ones that are NOT working? Maybe the answer is as simple as not getting an R2B version (easier said then done when ordering online I know
)

The one i tested was r2a and still did not work properly...the fact is that with current firmware, w950, m600 and p990 do not support mmr-60, thats all
