Might be an idea to get trading standards involved.

SE are trying to fob you off.

Even if you import a car from Euro you still get at least 1 years warranty in the U.K.

Do you have a proof of purchase from a dealer (not an individual)?

Even without proof of purchase SE will know this phone is less then a year old & it should be fixed under warranty.

The build sticker inside the phone under the battery gives a week & year of production.

All warrenties need to be backed up with a proof of purchase. It is part of the terms of the warrenty. Without proving that you have actually purchased it they wont repair it under warrenty. It works like that for all items.

Ive had my K750I repaired under warranty & never been asked for proof of purchase.

Ive also had my car repaired under warranty several times & never been asked for proof of purchase for that either, Even though the garage that repaired it wasnt the garage where the car was bought from, They where just the nearest main agent for the make of car in question.

SE will know when this phone was made, As long as the phone isnt reported stolen they should repair it under warranty.

I have had the same and been ok. I have also had to provide proof of purchase for items that have been on the market for less than a month. It is the right of the repairer/ manufacturer to ask for a proof of purchase.
In this case it is a bit unfair for SE to refuse to repair it.

I would try another SE repair agent.

thanks for your feedback!

mutleyboy has the proof of purchase i believe. him and i have a had a chat and when i get the phone back he's going to get back to the place he purchased it from to see if they'll replace it or get it sorted.

i have a 3250 at the mo so not really a huge problem, but like most 17 yr old students i cant afford to be £255 out of pocket... and its taking ages!
