Seems to me that SE are only doing this cos Samsung are releasing new products alot quicker then what they are, its not about money its about jealousy. SE need to stop being idiots and start getting there products out on time its taken a yr for the P990i to come out and there doing stunts like that when consumers are waiting im sorry but until I see a phone by SE I like and its out on time its Samsung for me.

The company that was suing Samsung is Ericsson, not Sony Ericsson. So it's not related with SE' jealousy to Samsung.
Why cant you see the difference between Ericsson and Sony Ericsson.
Yes, of course I know that Ericsson has shares in Sony Ericsson, as well as Sony.

Ericsson should win, regardless of our biases. The evidence is clear.

I don't think the lawsuit will go all the way...
Ericsson is just pressuring Samsung to get things done right:
PAY ROYALTIES!

it is Ericsson's right to pursue defaulters in their patent agreement. if Samsung is one, then it should face the court and suffer whatever penalty arouse there.

inforworld Article

The U.S. International Trade Commission said Thursday it will investigate complaints by Ericsson and its Swedish parent company that Samsung Electronics and two of its U.S. companies violated patents used its mobile handsets.

Ericsson and Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson filed a complaint against Samsung's Korean parent company, Samsung Telecommunications America and Samsung Electronics America, alleging that Samsung's importation of its patented mobile phones and components violated U.S. law, according to an ITC statement.

The ITC set no timetable for the investigation, but said it would establish a target date for the completion of the investigation to within 45 days of its institution.

Ericsson filed suit against Samsung in a Texas court August 2, alleging that Samsung is infringing on its patents for mobile handsets and some of their components. The case is part of legal action taken by the Swedish company against its Korean rival and former partner since February, after the two failed to renew a 2002 licensing arrangement for patented technology. The deal expired at the end of 2005.
