I think your supposed to use your thumbs on the p990-qwerty as well. I've heard it works quite well.

It sure does. Doing it now.

I agree with this post

Although I bought my p990i in late 2007, nearly one and a half years after its release, however, I am quite disappointed with its core functionality.

1. Multitasking is not good at all because of very limited memory on the base unit. When I am browsing in Opera and receive a call or view an SMS then most likely Opera will have been killed by the time I return to it

2. Battery life is very average. One day may be at the max with average multimedia and internet usage

3. On screen key board can take upto 1-1.5 seconds to display. Annoying considering the number of times you need it.

4. You can't fully operate the p990i using its QWERTY keyboard only (that's if you decide to remove the flip keypad)

What firmware are you using?
I can multitask with mine ok. ok, I have to close most appsto run tomtom but it is quite memory intensive. My bettery lasts at least 2.5 days with about 2 hours of web browsing, 20 mns calls, playing games etc in that time.
I have only split second delay with the keyboard.
Cant comment on 4 as I have always used it with the keypad attatched.

Even big-thumbed people can type on a P990 qwerty board, you just gotta know how, use your thumb vertically rather than horizontally (following the keys' orientation), then you'll be typing a lot faster and with ease. What is your firmware version anyway, there's one helluva difference in performance between R5A17 and R6D23 which are just a firmware apart. I will give my 2 cents once you enlighten us with your fw version

Well...I am using it with flip off for the last 8 months. It was kind of akward at the begining, but you after GDesk, it's smooth sailing ....
