Lol good for you, in fact great for you and hopefully you'll live those hard earned extra days now!

Keep it up mate, although I'm sure its hard you'll never regret giving up in the end.

That's the other thing, I'm extending my life expectancy!

Though don't feel so good at the moment. I'm at work, there are people going on about fags and smoking, and I really don't want to be here! Think I should have taken a week off when I started giving up. Got some nights in a few days and not looking forward to them either!

that's great news. I have been a nonsmoker for a year now... i had to do it the hard way, i had no choice.

i suffered from pneumothorax a year ago because of smoking. i spent a month in a hospital, had surgery to suture up my lungs and spent almost $5000 (that's 250,000 philippine pesos) for hospital bills.

Wow, quite an expensive trip into hospital there due to smoking!

Problem is Govi, I love smoking too! Which is probably why I feel like crap at the moment! But I can't continue to do it, I don't want my health or bank balance suffering!

But I know how bad it is for me, and it is costing me (and my wife as she's given up too) a fortune which we can better spend elsewhere, like on the house, paying off debts in my case, saving towards something nice, etc.

@sammy

Mate, it'll be hard but if you see it through you'll notice soo much of a difference, like you said your health will improve, finances will be better etc
I hope you succeed!

@govi

They're not trying to scare people, its the real effects of smoking, if it scares you, then maybe you should take a leaf outta sammy's book and quit yourself, but if you fancy the slow death go ahead...

Cheers

well i did give up drinking, thats gonna save me some money, coz usually around 20% of my monthly income goes into that. have not touched booze for the past 3 weeks. although the urge is overpowering, i buy a bottle of coke and imagine that to be beer.... (how pathetic)

Well, even though I am a 16 yo guy, I 've never smoked, I cna't find a reason to do it really. Life is hard too, even if you're 16, and I have to face it. I know when I'm older I will have greater challenges and I will face them too. I'm definately against smoking, to me it seems the easiest way of forgetting about problems but later that becomes an even greater problem than the one you just "tried to forget". Really a bad friend imo. cheers
