preps are going fine on my bike, however im not doing death valley this year,

im riding to paris again with Tmag2005 for a childrens charity.

its not the same route as i did last time, its a good 100km more!

in all honesty getting spare parts for dales are well difficult!

a proper lefty build will cost you about £750.

can it not be stripped and buy just a new stanction or something?

what kinda of lefty is it? an ELO one?

my flatmate uses lefty im on fatty SL's 5 settings n rebound! you don't get that on a lefty!

there made to a high standard.

i cant see that a lil heat is going to do anything.

Actually heat is a tyres worst enemy.
Excessive heat won't 'melt' a tyre but it can cause a blowout, especially if the tyre casing has been weakend by puncture damage or underinflation.

Overinflation seldom causes any problems. Overloading or long periods of underinflation however, causes a tyre to flex excessively which can break the reinforcing cords in the sidewall due to excessive heat build-up. This is particularly true of car tyres and highly dangerous in the case of truck tyres.

The organisers of the event would be well aware of the effects of heat on bikes and riders. Simply matching tyre pressures to the weight of the rider and ambient temperature would do the job.
