That may happen... thats why i recommend not installing windows on your mac. Theres no need for that, once u start using mac os x u wont wanna use windows again ever. Some people require apps that are just for windows but the number of apps for mac os x is always growing.
Mac os x isnt save just because of its market share, the architecture of the os is different from windows and that one of the main reasons its safer. I read that on a webpage that explained it, i´ll have a look and try to find it.

I do not know your level of Mac expertise but save your time and energy. I have several Macs. I change them out every 6 months. I am buying a 17 inch MacBook Pro next week and contrary to what you may think you should install Windows as there are simply some programs that will never port over to Mac OS. I hear your recommendation but please forgive me as I require a bit more than just the basics. Mac is safe because of its market share. Sure Unix is harder to crack than Windows, but the key word is harder, not impossible. I know the architectures behind both systems and like all things they are flawed. It is the nature of the beast.

I´m not an expert on mac. I know a few things from reading mac websites, magazines and such. I´ll take your word on that. If mac os x dominated the market surely viruses would appear but lets just be happy they havent showed up yet. A few trojans have appeard but they were harmless and i´m not even sure they were made specially for mac os x.
If you r buying a macbook pro next week perhaps you should consider waiting a few more weeks since apple is on the merge of releasing updates for both macbook and macbook pro lines, so ive heard (thicksecret, looprumors and etc). The intel core 2 duo ship has been on the market for quite some time and apple has been postponing the upgrade for too long already... perhaps it ´s been waiting for the shopping season that begins next month. Anyway, its a good idea to wait a few more weeks, if u can of course. cheers
