From the outset let’s get the record straight: Saw III is easily the weakest of all the Saw films released so far. The first Saw film was a brilliant debut, Saw II felt a little rushed, but this latest instalment of these snuff films lacks any originality and is more of the same but unfortunately, far less effective in its execution (pun!)
The main problem I had with it all is just how boring it all was. The 10 minutes worth of disconnected torture sequences are all glued together with what is essentially a really dull narrative of flashbacks, done in an MTV style of directing and editing, that mean the other 90 minutes or so are spent looking at your watch wondering when it’s all going to end. It’s quite apparent that the majority of the time writing this was used conjuring up new ways of dismemberment for the various cast members and that the paper-thin storyline was thrown in for good measure at the 11th hour like some after thought.
On the upside there is plenty of gore and er, erm…
You have to wonder where they will go next with the inevitable Saw IV. I can only hope they see sense and realise that the series has reached its sell-by date and just leave it as a nice neat trilogy package. But hey what do I know eh? I’m sure Lionsgate films will milk their cash cow for all it’s worth.
A two-out-of-fiver if ever there was one.

Have to go and watch it this Friday night, the girlfriend’s wants to see it, not me. Horror movies aren’t my cup of tea (although I have seen the first two). Would you say the 3rd instalment is better or worse the last one (saw 2)?

Are these people stupid lol! If they know they don't like the sight of blood or seeing gory things why the hell do they go?
I hardly ever go to the cinema but i may go and see this, do you have to have seen the other two? Is it like an on going story?
I love blood and gore lol, bring it on, dead bodies, the lot!
