@OdieS

How about because its got 4GB of memory as is a Walkman phone not a business phone, it does calendar e-mail and web but that's it. If it was going to be a business phone they would of left the M600 keypad on it. We know SE have a strategy of separate products for slightly different sectors. Only the P Series, has smart phone, Music Player and camera, M series is smart phone with Music Player, W is Walkman Smart phone but more entertainment focused IMO.

Spoke to a bloke in the o2 shop today, really nice chap knew his stuff! and he has convinced me it has nothing to do with o2 regarding the lack of office tools and the rss feeds and suggested se may well include it in an update!

or try using da vinci or other services to flash the phone to a different fw!

Many thanks for the complement, I've left an email with a mate who works for SE and hopefully I'll get some answers for everyone by Tuesday.

Cheers

I'm interested in this too. I got my W950 from O2 yesterday and I'm also missing the RSS feed software and Office tools. I'm very satisfied apart from that but hope there's some plan to provide them in a future update.

i have this on vodafone, and confirm that the rss feeds is in the menu and works fine.

i did do a master reset just after having the phone for a day or two, following this i noticed that i dont have the 'play now' software in the multimedia menu. according to the manual this is supposed to be for the live tv etc...

i e-mailed SE and the response was that it is because of my network operator, and that i should contact them.

it seems that every company just tries to pass it off onto another.

P.S. oh, there doesnt appear to be any office software (but i wouldnt mind getting my hands on this if i can)

I've got the same problem RSS feed is missing!!
So I've called up o2 customer service as well as Sony Ericsson:

Sony Ericsson confirms that all w950i phones they send out to Operators have not been modified, that the operators modify certain icons and menu builds in their phones and that I should contact o2. (Seems like it is o2's issue as Orange and Vodafone have RSS).

So I contact o2 and they're not to sure what's going on, they spoke to their data guys but they seem to believe that they don't modify any of their phones and that what comes from SE is all there! hmm sure is a descrepancy here - anyway they palm me off by telling me to visit an o2 store where the software can be updated (Yea right last time I went 2 an o2 store they knew nothing about RSS feeds!)

Anyway I'll pop into an o2 store tommorow and if they can't help ( which I doubt they can) I'll be much more firm with the o2 guys to get it sorted out! come on its clearly advertised on o2 site that it has RSS feed and its a major selling point of the phone! if o2 CS and data guys and SE don't get together to sort it out I'm getting a refund and moving over to Vodafone!! let you know tommorow on this.
