Just to weigh in. I dumped my M600i yesterday in favor of a Nokia E61. Not that the M600i was bad but that SE support for the phone was not good. They made a misrepresentation or two in their white paper about the phone. It is branded as a biz phone but is missing many key biz applications that are present on the E61. Not to mention that there is no Mac support. All of these factors led to my decision. It you are purly a Windoze based user, the M600i should work out fine. However, if you are a Mac user, the M600i is not the way to go.

@ sapporababy - just out of interest, what are these "many key biz applications" that the M600i lacks?

@Boinng,
Well you have:
1. Automatic caller announcment
2. Several different flavors of "push" email.
3. Mac support (for Mac users)
4. A large application portfolio (biz apps.)
5. USB Mass Storage profile support right out the box without driver installation.
Just a few but very useful (in my opinion) applications and functions.

But surely the M600i has all that, with the exception of Mac support?
1. Admittedly I'm not sure what you mean by "automatic caller announcement", but the M600i certainly lets me know who's calling, and it'll verbally announce it if there's a voice tag. I don't see what's missing.
2. It supports Blackberry Connect, Intellisync, SEVEN and others - again, what's missing?
3. Fair enough..
4. What apps that the M600i doesn't have? Calendar, Contacts, Word, Spreadsheet, Powerpoint, Notes, Tasks, what else?
5. AFAIK the M600i doesn't need drivers to operate in Mass Storage mode, you just change the connection setting?

1. It digitally synthesizes the voice. No need to train voice tags.
2. I knew about the Blackberry Connect and the syncML OTA, but not the others. I will take your word for it but I do not remember reading that there are additional clients for it.
3. Mac users are also business users. I work as a consultant for the US Military. I advise on technologies for the future. Due to the lack of Mac OS support, I recommended that the Militray no longer consider SE products.
4. More along the lines of third party applications, but I the basics are included as well.
5. Under Mac OS the E61 is fully supported. Plug it in and it sees the drive. The same can not be said of the M600i. It is not supported under Mac OS. Period. Changing the settings does not make it work in any shape or fashion. The E61 is supports on Mac and WinXP. The same can not be said of the M600i, therefore limiting its functionality.
P.S. In the P990 White Paper, Mac support via iSync is stated but not a reality. SE, via communications, stated that they do not plan to support Mac OS, so their White Paper is actually toilet paper as far as information is concerned.

sapporobaby, I agree the M600i should ideally support the Mac, particularly since SE said it would - I'd hope this is something that they'll rectify in time. Having said that, I think your claim of the "many key biz applications" missing from the M600 (but found in the E61) is an exaggeration. As a Mac user I don't doubt that the E61 is a better choice for you at the moment, but from what you've said I can't see any other compelling argument for the E61, from a business or any other viewpoint.
On USB support - which connection settings did you change before plugging your M600i into the mac? I find it curious that XP and Macs could have such different support for the same standard.

Lets say the playing field is level when it comes to biz support. Plus - Minus = Zero. However SE has stated, I have the emails saying so, that they will not go further to make the M600i compatible with the Mac. This is from their own mouth so I would not hold my breath waiting for a solution from them. Apple is about to launch the iPhone which will stomp SE for sure, so why should Apple worry about making an SE phone compatible? As for the settings, there are two on the M600i. Phone mode and File Transfer mode. Neither work. No one I know with a Mac can make this work. There are tons of forums on this issue. SE knows about it and will not do anything to rectify it, so the M600i for me and the U.S. Military is a dead issue. I recommended that they purchase the E-series phones from Nokia. Only about 3000 purchased initially then probably on to about 5000, and then more over time, not to be mentioned as being a U.S. Military preferred vender. They shot themselves in the foot on this one. Mac's and XP do not have different support for the same standard. SE changed the way the phone communicates. You must load drivers now and there are none for the Mac community. I am not the only one making the move away from SE. In the Apple forums many others have begun the exodus.

Ok, I'll take your word for it on the USB issue, that's a shame. I wouldn't give up all hope on Mac compatibility personally - regardless of the emails you've recieved, it would be bizarre if no Mac support was ever forthcoming from somewhere - but I can quite understand your not wanting to wait.
I think the idea that SE are going to be "stomped on" by the mythical iphone is a little naive, to be honest. SE have a great deal of phone experience, whereas Apple have precisely none. Aside from the relatively simple Ipod software they have no mobile OS whatsoever, so they're not going to challenge on the smartphone front - and SE already have a strong lead on them in mobile music phones. In fact it's arguably the success of the Walkman phone brand which is forcing Apple into attempting this. Apple have a great track record for innovating and creating new business, but not going up against established leaders in established markets.
